Dr Sabahat Hameed obtained her MBBS degree from Bolan medical college Quetta . She specialised In psychiatry from Pakistan institute of health sciences Islamabad & worked as honorary resident in Institute of Psychiatry & WHO collaborating centre Bainazir Bhutto hospital Rawalpindi & subsequently obtained membership of college of physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan .

She joined Quaid e azam international hospital Islamabad ( a leading tertiary care hospital of 450 beds ) in 2013 as an assistant consultant of psychiatry & currently working as Head of psychiatry department & consultant psychiatrist since 2019 , in 2021 she started working as Liaison psychiatrist in liver transplant programme till to date & have tremendous work by Sehat card KPK . She has she developed psychiatry department from scratch in QIH as first & only private tertiary care hospital offering ECT.

She is one of the founding member of Pakistan health parliament which is a volunteer organisation working for uplift of mental health in Pakistan .
She has contributed as one of the leading investigator in PREVIDA ( Pakistani study on Real world Evidence with vortioxetine in major depression in Asia )
She is a member of Pakistan psychiatric society & can speak Urdu & English.
