In the Netherlands, e-learning is widely used in the further training and education of (future) professionals in mental health care with the aim of contributing to improving the quality of care for people with mental health problems. A unique feature of the approach is that the development and implementation of e-learning is organized through a cooperative (non-profit) partnership, in which 90 mental health care institutions participate. In our workshop we share knowledge about e-learning as a tool in the education of mental health caregivers; the cooperative model used in the Netherlands and we give tips on how a similar initiative around e-learning can be started elsewhere.
