Consumer academic, PhD student at the University of Southern Denmark & The Zealand Region in Denmark, Occupational Therapist (B.OT) & Master of Arts in Psychology and Work Life Studies.

Karina is a consumer academic working within public mental health services in Denmark. She uses her experiential knowledge as a consultant working with recovery-oriented practices, peer support and destigmatization. She is also a PhD student exploring lived experiences of recovery amongst mental health professionals, who are not employed as peer support workers, and how sharing of experiences may benefit current users of mental health services. She is inspired by survivor research and mad studies, and represents Denmark in the Global Mental Health Peer Network.
