Joshua Abioseh Duncan (Sierra Leonean by nationality) is the Mental Health Coalition – Sierra Leone Country Director. As head of the Coalition, he has managed quite a number of mental health and psycho-social (MHPS) programs and also responded to lots of crisis situations like the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) Outbreak, Mudslides, Flooding and Fire crises including Covid – 19 Pandemic in the country. With 20 years of teaching and almost 11 years of managing mental health and other disability related programs, Joshua has strong advocacy, awareness rising, and capacity building skills. He has organized over seven in-country national and international mental health conferences, facilitated the establishment of 14 Mental Health Units in the country, developed/co-developed MHPS manuals in response to crisis events, co-authored mental health related articles, pioneered the first Mental Health Users and Family Support Group and facilitated in numbers local and international workshops and seminars. His User Experience, Health and Social Systems Strengthening Capacity, Religious, Social Science and Public Administration Academic Background have been his greatest advantage.
